Bikenapping Sting
How’s it going y’all? It’s your girl Leah, back for
another completely exciting addition of Leah’s Lounge.
As mentioned in my last entry, I had a “Boo Pig Sooie” sign made for the Arkansas-Alabama game. I felt a little foolish carrying a sign with a bad pun on it, but that lasted half a minute. A few Arkansas fans came up to me to take a picture, which was nice. My friends told me I wouldn’t be able to take it into the stadium, but I decided “why not?” and tried to see if they would let me in with it WHICH THEY DID. This is where the story gets spicy.
I went inside with the sign and felt a little obnoxious and worried I would block people’s view. So I was cautious through the first half of the game. But then, our area started to clear out. A big part of Alabama games in the lower bowl student section is that Big Al (our beautiful elephant mascot) LOVES to crowd-surf. So as I sat there yelling at Arkansas, I recognized that big Al was assuming the position to start crowd surfing, and I KNEW it was my time to shine.
I sprung into action, noticing that ESPN was showing up to record the feat Big Al was undertaking. I put my game-face on, AND HELD UP THE SIGN, AND WAS PUT ON ESPN. The picture is attached below, it was an absolutely beautiful moment of my life. My phone started buzzing from people watching the game, and my dad called me to let me know that I had achieved what I always wanted, absolute fame.

In my case, fame has been a little suffocating, hard to deal with the paparazzi and all that. I’m making it work.
As I continue this blog, one of the critiques I received states that I jump from topic to topic. I don’t know if y’all have heard me talk, but I jump topic to topic. But since I received it as a criticism I am going to put a little bit more effort into correcting this.
Insert decent transition here. My friend got his bike stolen which I believe to be one of the most heinous of crimes. Regardless, I have a sting operation planned. It goes as follows. I’m walking around campus, bobbing my head a lot, enjoying my day. I pass the bike racks outside of Lloyd, which is where I guarantee the bike to be, and I see the bike. I then proceed with the sting. I wait casually, looking calm, locking my bike up to the bike racks right next to the stolen bike. I then approach the suspect.
I start asking about the bike, asking about the model. As I ask the questions, I begin to inspect the bike. My friend put a Bontrager sticker on his bike, but he put it on upside down. That’s the key. That’s how I know. From there, I would yell “GET EM BOYS" into the wire I would have to be wearing constantly for the weeks and months leading up to this. Then I would tackle them to the ground.
In University of Alabama news, one of my goals before
I graduate is to try absolutely every bathroom on campus. I set up some restrictions for this. I can’t try every single stall, or every single floor
per building. But I can try one per building. The main goal is academic
buildings with a lot of foot traffic. I’ve visited multiple in some buildings,
such as where I work or buildings where I have multiple classes.
I’ve decided to prepare a list of the best bathrooms on campus. I’ve gotten a little bit of feedback so far, but I would like to make a pretty expansive list with perks of each. So if you go to UA, have an opinion on this, and are bothering yourself in reading this mess, let me know! I will also accept least favorite bathrooms if you have a pretty defined opinion about it.

Anyway, that’s pretty much all I have to say. The last
thing I have to offer everyone is that I am developing a weekly Spotify playlist. It will be posted on each Friday. Think of it as soft background
music as we sit in the lounge together.
If you’re one of the eleven or so people reading this,
thanks so much! Talking to a nearly empty room is better than talking to an
empty room. Let me know if you want anything to actually come out of this! I
bought the domain for this website for literally 12 dollars per year, which is
a dollar per month, and I took the money out of my “Stupid Purchase Budget” so
it was absolutely worth it. You can now visit the lounge at leahslounge.com,
without having to type blogspot or anything.
